By limiting gas leaks, piston rings help boost efficient use of fuel and maximize power generated by the engine. They also regulate the amount of oil between the piston and cylinder, efficiently moving oil from the cylinder toward the sump. The rings help protect the piston from the cylinder wall so that the two do not rub together and cause wear. Piston rings also transfer heat from the piston to the cylinder to prevent excessive heat buildup. Stens Piston Rings help ensure smooth engine performance.
