The Pirtle Nursery 6 gal. Pecan Tree is useful as a shade tree in your landscape, and it provides an edible fruit nut. Large limbs grow up from the trunk of this easy-to-grow tree in a distinctive upright spreading fashion. Pecan trees are fast growing and tolerant of many soil types. Nuts are enclosed in a thick leathery husk that are harvested in the fall months. Specific varieties are determined by availability, including but not limited to Pawnee, Native, Kanza, Choctaw and Desirable. A pecan tree will not grow outside of hardiness zones 6-10.
