Cuckoo Marans chickens are a rare breed that is friendly, docile, and fast growing. Originating from the Marans region of France, this beautiful dual purpose bird is extremely hardy and disease resistant, has clean legs and is an excellent forager. Active, easily handled and not aggressive, the Cuckoo Marans breed does well in confinement or free ranged. This layer of darker brown eggs, matures later than some at 8-9 months of age. It's an excellent addition to any backyard flock.
